Using Skype for Remote Work

James Kendrick, who shares insights about mobile technology on ZDNet, talks about using Skype for iPad to stay in touch with your remote team. He likes Skype because many people are already comfortable using that technology, and the iPad is convenient because it allows him to still use his computer while on the call. Also, he says, his iPad gives great call quality. We like Skype for nonprofits because it offers free, user-friendly access. Using video to stay in touch with your team gives the face-to-face factor, which can be tough to replicate in a virtual world.
